The Claims Trainer is primarily responsible for the design and effective delivery of training programs related to medical and dental claims processing and customer service. In addition, the Claims Trainer will be responsible for maintaining training manuals and records while identifying training opportunities and establishing training and development plans.
Responsibilities
Training
- Design and deliver new hire training programs, operational training initiatives as well as on-going training and development.
- Identify needs assessments and training opportunities which include establishing training and development plans.
- Learn and maintain thorough working knowledge of all claims and customer service processes, policies, and procedures within the department and for the department(s) they support as well as stay abreast of all changes.
- Maintain training manual and records.
Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Minimum of six (6) years of complex medical claims experience
Skills/Abilities:
- Strong development, facilitation and presentation skills required.
- Ability to identify adult learning techniques, concepts and behaviors while maintaining an interactive engaging and collaborative learning environment.
- Extensive knowledge of medical/dental terminology, CPT Codes, ICD 9/10 and medical/dental claim forms.
- Proficient knowledge of the health insurance industry, medical and dental claims processing and customer service.
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word and Power Point).
- Minimum 40 WPM and 3,000 KPH proficiency
- Proficient knowledge in the use of Claims Processing software programs.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with exceptional attention to details.
- Strong dedication to follow-through on all tasks and assignments while maintaining effective time management skills.
- Ability to organize, set priorities, work independently and complete multiple projects within established deadlines.
- Professional, client-focused approach to colleagues and assignments.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time operating a computer keyboard.
